OCC Sends 'Mutual to Stock' Conversion Info Collection to OMB for Renewal

Treasury's OCC seeks comment on continuing paperwork requirement under PRA

FMG Newsroom2 min read

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), part of the Treasury Department, has published a notice soliciting public comment on the renewal of an existing information collection titled "Conversions From Mutual to Stock Form." The notice states that the OCC has already submitted the collection to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review, as required under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA).

Per the notice, the OCC may not conduct or sponsor this information collection, and respondents are not required to respond, unless the collection displays a currently valid OMB control number. The agency describes this action as part of its ongoing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden.

While this notice pertains to a banking-sector reporting requirement rather than a procurement action, it is a routine administrative step that keeps the underlying information collection authorized. Entities subject to the "Conversions From Mutual to Stock Form" requirement, including financial institutions undergoing such conversions, should monitor the docket for the comment period and any changes OMB may approve.
