Peraton Holds $1.5 Billion NASA Contract to Unify Space Communications Networks at Goddard Through 2027

Contract covers integration of the Space Network, Near Earth Network, and Deep Space Network under common management practices

FMG Newsroom

Peraton Inc. holds a $1,499,571,495 contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) to provide integrated management and network solutions for NASA's space communications and navigation systems. The award, Contract No. 80GSFC19C0063, is classified under NAICS code 517919 (All Other Telecommunications).

The contract supports NASA's Exploration and Space Communications (ESC) Projects Division at Goddard, which manages the agency's operational geostationary communications relay satellites and associated ground systems under the Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) program. Under this award, Peraton is responsible for unifying NASA's three core networks — the Space Network (SN), the Near Earth Network (NEN), and the Deep Space Network (DSN) — under integrated, common management practices and network solutions. The contract was awarded without a small business set-aside designation.

The performance period runs from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2027. Goddard Space Flight Center is located in Greenbelt, Maryland.

For telecommunications and space systems contractors, this award illustrates the scale of NASA's investment in communications infrastructure that supports both scientific discovery and human spaceflight. As the 2027 contract expiration approaches, firms with space communications integration experience, satellite operations capabilities, or ground systems expertise should track NASA Goddard's procurement forecast for potential follow-on opportunities in the SCaN program portfolio.
