CACI Secures $792.5 Million GSA Bridge Task Order for CDM DEFEND Cybersecurity Work

Federal Acquisition Service issues Group A bridge award to sustain continuous network defense services

FMG Newsroom

CACI, Inc. - Federal has been awarded a task order valued at $792,496,989 by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), issued through the agency's Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), for continued work described as "CDM DEFEND Group A Bridge Task Order."

The award, with ID 47QFRA24F0005, was issued under the GSA Alliant 2 governmentwide acquisition contract vehicle and covers a period of performance from May 1, 2024, through April 30, 2027, according to USAspending.gov award data.

The task order sustains work under the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Dynamic and Evolving Federal Enterprise Network Defense (DEFEND) program, a cybersecurity initiative run by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) within the Department of Homeland Security. CDM DEFEND task orders are acquired through GSA's Federal Acquisition Service using the Alliant 2 GWAC, a structure that allows CISA to rapidly extend network defense, asset management, and vulnerability mitigation services across federal civilian agencies while longer-term follow-on procurements are finalized.

Bridge task orders of this kind typically provide continuity of cybersecurity services for a defined interim period without a new competitive solicitation, going to contractors that already hold positions on the underlying vehicle. CACI was one of several established CDM DEFEND vendors, alongside firms such as Booz Allen Hamilton, CGI Federal, and ManTech, to receive similar bridge awards as CISA works to keep continuous monitoring and defense capabilities in place across the federal enterprise.

For government contractors in the cybersecurity space, the award underscores the continued reliance on the CDM program as a primary vehicle for network defense spending, and highlights how bridge task orders can represent significant near-term revenue even as agencies plan for the program's next competitive phase.
